And A BIG Congratulations to the 8th Grade Lady Warriors Volleyball on their EPIC Championship win today for the York County Middle School Athletic Conference (YCMSAC). They fought hard and were successful over Sullivan Middle. Under the direction of 8th Grade Head Coach Kendall Griffin and Assistant Coach Matt Burton, they had a 14-0 UNDEFEATED season. 📣 Introducing the ILMS Warrior Wellness Program! 🔴🔵
Middle school is the perfect time to develop healthy habits that last a lifetime. That’s why we are thrilled to launch our Warrior Wellness Program—a 7-week journey designed to help our students take care of their whole self: body, mind, emotions, relationships, and future goals! 🧠💪✨
Our goal is to show every Warrior that wellness is about more than just being physically healthy. It’s about feeling good, thinking positively, connecting with others, and discovering your unique strengths!
We officially kicked off this amazing journey during our Pep Rally on Friday, Oct. 2nd! 🎉 Here is how our Warriors will be participating over the next few weeks:
• 📢 Warrior Wellness Daily Announcements: Keeping wellness top-of-mind with healthy tips and challenges every single morning!
• 🗓️ Warrior Wellness Wednesdays: Starting October 14th, teachers will lead interactive mini-lessons during 4th-period advisory time.
• 🏃♂️ Warrior Wellness Day (November 23rd): A school-wide day where everyone participates across their classes!
Here’s what Warrior Wellness Day will look like in the classroom:
• 📝 English: Mindful journaling sessions.
• 🧩 Math: Brain-boosting intellectual games.
• 👟 Social Studies: Getting active with walks out on the field.
• 🍎 Science: Nutritional lessons using Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning (CER).
• 🎨 Encores: Exciting, custom wellness activities chosen by elective teachers.

A huge highlight of the event was Ms. Jordan's theatre class, who treated us to an amazing performance of "Hard Knock Life" from the musical Annie. They brought so much energy to the gym and really got the whole crowd celebrating!
Our student DJs did a fantastic job keeping the energy high and playing all the best tunes throughout the rally. We also want to send a massive thank you to Mr. Gavigan for organizing the entire event and being such a great MC.

Warrior Family Weekly
Our students and teachers continue to work incredibly hard, and I am so proud of the learning, growth, and determination I see throughout our school each day. Our students are truly exceptional. They are talented, thoughtful, resilient, and capable of accomplishing great things.
Middle school is a time of tremendous growth, and every success—large or small—is worth celebrating. Please continue encouraging your child to work hard, make positive choices, and believe in what they can accomplish. When our families and school work together, there is no limit to how much our students can grow.

Spain 2028: Informational Meeting
We are thrilled to announce an upcoming trip to Spain in summer 2028, and your student is invited! This life-changing experience will help students develop confidence, independence, and a broader global perspective.

New Lunch Snack Procedures
Beginning Monday, students will be able to purchase an additional snack and drink through the lunch line on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Students who would like to purchase these items must enter the lunch line at the beginning of their lunch period and purchase the snack and drink while going through the line. Students will not be permitted to return to the line for a snack after they have eaten.
Ice cream will be available for purchase on Fridays and may be purchased at any time during the lunch period.
Early Dismissals During Lunch
We are requesting your cooperation with early student pickups during our lunch periods, which run daily from 11:50 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A Lunch 11:55 - 12:20- B Lunch 12:30 - 12:55- C Lunch 1:05 - 1:30
If you need to pick up your child early, please ask them which lunch period they have and plan to arrive either before or after their scheduled lunch.
We do not have an intercom system in the cafeteria, which makes it difficult to notify students that a parent has arrived. When students are in class, we can contact them more easily, making the checkout process faster and more efficient.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us minimize disruptions during lunch.
Important Dismissal Reminder
The latest time for an early student checkout is 2:45 p.m. After that time, our office staff is fully focused on preparing students for a safe dismissal.
Please also avoid arriving too early and waiting in the parking lot before dismissal, as this causes significant backups in the car-rider line. Thank you for helping us keep students safe and traffic moving efficiently.
