A Message from the Principal
What a wonderful week we have had with our students! Throughout the week, we have seen students engaged, focused, and actively participating in instruction. They have also done an excellent job learning and following our schoolwide expectations.
We held grade-level assemblies on Wednesday and Thursday to review what it means to demonstrate Warrior Pride and to reinforce the expectations that help create a positive and productive learning environment. We are proud of the strong start our students have made and look forward to another great week of learning and growth!
Important Dates
i-Ready Math Assessment
Students will complete the i-Ready Math assessment on Thursday, August 13. Please encourage your student to get a good night’s rest, arrive on time, and bring a fully charged Chromebook.
Parent Information Night
Join us for Parent Information Night on Thursday, August 13, from 5:30–6:30 p.m. We look forward to welcoming our families and sharing important information about the school year.
Food
To protect instructional time and maintain classrooms that are focused on learning, food is not permitted in classrooms. Our class periods are only 50 minutes long, and the time spent opening packages, eating, cleaning spills, and disposing of trash can quickly interrupt instruction and distract students from lessons and activities. This expectation also helps keep our classrooms, furniture, and technology clean.
Students may bring breakfast from home or purchase breakfast in the cafeteria. Breakfast must be eaten in the cafeteria prior to going to class in the AM. Students may also bring a packed lunch or purchase lunch from the cafeteria each day.
Our practice is consistent with other area middle schools, which also limit eating to designated areas rather than classrooms. Thank you for supporting our efforts to provide clean, orderly classrooms where students can remain engaged and ready to learn.
Athletics
Fall Sports Pictures
Football, volleyball, cheer, and dance pictures will be taken by Upstate Images after school on Thursday, October 1. Additional information regarding order forms and purchasing options will be shared closer to the date.

Thank You, Warrior Families!
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Your encouragement at home helps our students meet expectations, remain focused, and experience success at school. We are grateful to work alongside you as we help every student Lead. Learn. Grow.
Dear ILMS Families,
As we prepare to welcome all of our Warriors back on Monday, I want to take a moment to say how excited we are to begin a new school year together. Our teachers and staff have spent the past week preparing classrooms, participating in professional learning, and getting everything ready to ensure a wonderful start for your children.
Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming our 7th grade students for orientation. It was an exciting day, and it gave us an opportunity to identify a few procedures that would be helpful to emphasize before the first day of school. Sharing these reminders now will help ensure that Monday morning and afternoon are safe, smooth, and successful for everyone.
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
At Indian Land Middle School, the safety of every student is our highest priority. To support this commitment, all student drop-off and pick-up must take place through the designated car rider line. For the safety of our students, drop-off and pick-up in the parking lots, near the mobile classrooms, or in grassy areas is not permitted.
To help make this process as smooth as possible, I have provided both a car rider map and a car rider procedure video for your convenience. We encourage you to review these resources prior to the first day of school.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bQUbCLx2ILprRx4DIRdF5aAuWQC4to4Z/view?usp=sharing
In the afternoon, students will remain in the cafeteria until they are dismissed. As you move through the car rider line, an administrator will radio your student's name to the staff supervising the cafeteria. Your student will then be released to meet you in the designated pick-up area.
Thank you for your cooperation, patience, and partnership as we work together to provide a safe, efficient, and orderly arrival and dismissal process for all of our students.
Warrior Pride and Dress Code
At Indian Land Middle School, we believe that being a Warrior means demonstrating pride in ourselves, our school, and the way we represent our community. We encourage all students to arrive each day dressed in a manner that reflects our Warrior Pride and supports a positive school culture.
Indian Land Middle School follows the Lancaster County School District (LCSD) Dress Code Policy, and we appreciate families taking a few moments to review the guidelines with their students before the school year begins. Your partnership helps ensure students start each day ready to Lead. Learn. Grow.
If a student's attire does not meet the LCSD dress code, the student will be asked to change into appropriate clothing. Parents or guardians may be contacted to bring a change of clothing to school. If appropriate clothing cannot be obtained, the student may be assigned to In-School Suspension (ISS) for the remainder of the day.
Thank you for partnering with us to help our students represent Indian Land Middle School with pride every day.
At Indian Land Middle School, we take pride in maintaining a clean, welcoming, and healthy learning environment for all of our Warriors. To help keep our classrooms clean and focused on learning, only water in a sealed bottle is permitted in classrooms. Food and other beverages should remain in the cafeteria during breakfast and lunch.
Students may enjoy breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria each day. Please note that energy drinks and coffee are not permitted anywhere in the school building. If a student arrives at school with an energy drink or coffee, they will be asked to dispose of it before entering the building.
We appreciate your partnership in helping our students demonstrate Warrior Pride by respecting our school, caring for our facilities, and creating a positive environment where everyone can Lead. Learn. Grow.

Car Rider Drop-Off & Pick-Up
To ensure the safety of all students, please follow our traffic procedures.
Morning Arrival
Car rider drop-off begins at 7:45 AM.
Students should remain in vehicles until they reach the designated unloading area.

Car riders will be dismissed through the designated car rider line.
Pull forward as directed by staff.
Be patient and avoid passing vehicles in the car line.

Lunch & Food Delivery Reminder
To maintain a safe and orderly school environment:
Students may purchase a school lunch or bring lunch from home.
Outside food deliveries (DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, restaurant deliveries, etc.) are not permitted.
If a student forgets lunch, a parent or guardian may bring lunch from home or get lunch in the cafeteria
Fast food deliveries will not be accepted for students.
Thank you for helping us maintain a consistent learning environment for all students.
Water Only in Classrooms
Students are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle with a secure lid.
Please remember:
Water only is permitted in classrooms.
The following are not permitted during the instructional day:
Coffee drinks
Energy drinks
Food in classrooms
These expectations help us protect instructional spaces while keeping students hydrated throughout the day.
Dress Code Reminder
As you finish back-to-school shopping, please review the ILMS dress code with your student.
Our dress code supports a positive learning environment while helping students remain focused on learning.
Please make sure clothing:
Meets district dress code expectations
Is appropriate for a school setting
Allows students to participate safely in all school activities
A complete copy of the LCSD Middle School Dress Code is available on our website and in the Family Handbook
We're Looking Forward to a Great Year!
Thank you for your partnership and support. Together we will continue building a school where students are challenged to achieve, encouraged to lead, and inspired to reach their fullest potential.
We can't wait to see our Warriors soon!
Lead. Learn. Grow.
